Author Katherin Fitzpatrick Set to Pursue Speaking Engagements
Katherin Fitzpatrick will speak to both teens and women's groups on the topics of health, wellness and anti-aging

YAKIMA, WA, May 13, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Katherin Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Young Lion's Youth Ministry Program, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of youth ministry.

Katherin Fitzpatrick has 11 years of experience with Young Lion's Youth Ministry Program, a non-profit organization that specializes in counseling and ministry for incarcerated children and youth. As the CEO and director, she is in charge of teaching, training, presenting lectures and working with young people. Ms. Fitzpatrick considers equipping at-risk youth with the tools they need to turn their lives around to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. She attributes her success to her diligence, perseverance and determination.

Ms. Fitzpatrick has written and published two books. The first, entitled "The Extreme Teen Rescue Manual," is used as a reference guide for dynamic youth detention ministries around the world. The second, "Angel Promises... Remembering the Youngest Firefighter," is the story of her daughter, [url=http://www.karenleefitzpatrick.com[Karen Lee FitzPatrick[/url], who at 18 years of age, was the youngest female professional firefighter in history to lose her life in the line of duty in America while fighting "The Thirymile Fire" in Washington State near the Canadian border in 2001. "The Thirtymile Fire," in which Karen and Katherin are real life characters, came out as a book in May of 2007, authored by John Norman Maclean. Katherin's book "Angel Promises," was accorded a place of honor in the Firefighter History Museum in Spokane, along with Maclean's book about the historic fire episode of 7-10-01.

Most recently, Katherin attended a conference of women authors and speakers in Texas. An animated and naturally gifted speaker and performer in her own right, Katherin intends to schedule talks before women's groups on the topics of nutrition, health and wellness and collaborate with her two daughters on a book detailing the methods they use to remain youthful. Both of her daughters have unusual and outstanding health recovery and weigh-loss success stories. As the former producer of "Accent On Health," a nationally and internationally syndicated television program which ran from 1983 to 1989 and was hosted by author and Ph.D.-in-nutrition-expert Maureen Salaman, Katherin feels it's now time for her to step forward once again during this current health crisis in America with a new book, acclimated for our current times.

Prior to devoting her focus on youth ministry, Ms. Fitzpatrick worked as a television producer in California, and as a Real Estate agent in the Pacific Northwest, a career which originated in 1994. She is currently a Certified Residential Specialist through the National Association of Realtors, a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI) and continues to maintain a CRS, which is the highest designation one can have as a Realtor. Katherin's life is a blend of business and ministry work. She also holds a certification in phlebotomy from ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) which was a carry over from her work as a Medical Assistant, another former career in California before television. In 2004, she made the decision to continue her youth ministry work, secured financially by her work in real estate.

Ms. Fitzpatrick has been recognized with numerous awards in the course of her career for her work with At-Risk Youth. These include a Volunteer Week Award from Governor Gary Locke in 1999, a Volunteer Appreciation Award for Positive Heartfelt Influence on Young Lives, and an Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award from the Director of Volunteers in Agencies of the Washington State and Yakima Valley Region. Ms. Fitzpatrick is affiliated with the Governor's Council on Juvenile Justice, the Yakima County Superior Court, the Yakima County Juvenile Justice Department, and the Director of Volunteers in Agencies. Katherin is also a part of the Vision Minister's Fellowship (VMF) affiliated with Christian Faith Center in Federal Way, WA. She and her present associates at Young Lion's Youth Ministry Program work on a weekly basis with youth inmates at the Yakima County Youth Detention facility at the Juvenile Court in Yakima, WA as a division of Shepherd's Heart Outreach Ministries of Stone Church Assemblies of God in Yakima, WA.
