With a specialization in diabetes education, Ms. Fernandes is responsible for caring for patients, counseling and working with nurses and doctors. She became involved in her profession because of her desire to help others and is a recipient of an award from the Veterans Administration Hospital for her excellence in community service.

Ms. Fernandes received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Florida in 2004 and is pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She is a member of the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International and the American Pharmacists Association. She attributes her success to her hard work and hopes to become more involved in diabetic counseling in the future.
